Changes about who can be married at St Andrew's or St Peter's? There are important changes in the rules that govern the legal entitlement to a person's right to have their banns called and be married in a church of the Curch of England. These changes are likely to come into effect in early summer 2008 | In summary: either the person concerned - was baptised in the parish; or
- has been confirmed and the confirmation has been entered in a register; or
- has at any time had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or
- has at ay time habitually attended worship in the parish for at least 6 months
OR that person's parent has at any time during the person's lifetime - had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or
- habitually attended worship in the parish for at least 6 months;
OR that person's parent or grandparent was married in the parish | When planning a wedding contact the clergy first about getting a date. There is a wedding application form below. The person who is taking the service will meet the couple to discuss what they want in their service, and they will organise a date for a rehearsal. |
