The PCC - how the engine runs
This explains the structure of the PCC and how it relates to the Focus Groups. The introduction of Focus Groups was intended as a way of making the ever increasing business of the Church Council more manageable. At the time there were over 30 PCC members. This was reduced to 16.This text has been provided as an example. Focus Groups are made up of PCC members and non-members whose responsibility is to focus on particular responsibilities and who report back to the PCC highlighting priorities, giving advice and making proposals. The PCC "governs" the whole parish and includes St Andrew's and St Peter's. The Vicar is the Chair of the PCC, but the meetings are usually chaired by Eric Plenderleath who is elected Vice-Chairman. There are usually 5 meetings per year - by law there has to be at least 4. Here are details of who the members of the PCC and the Focus Groups are, and over the months we will feature work of the different Focus Groups in the Parish Grapevine. Draft minutes of PCC meetings are here.
