Easter is a time of new beginnings. God offers us a renewed opportunity to join Him on the faith journey of life. For the Christian that invitation comes from Jesus Christ.
When David Herbert asked me to write page 3 this month,

So the inevitable question that is raised in my mind is how do we all respond to God?s invitation to do new things for Him?
A hymn of Charles Wesley comes to mind:
?To serve the present age, my calling to fulfil?.
How does the church serve the present age and fulfil its calling? As individuals, let us rededicate our spiritual gifts and ministries to God. As a church community let us discover new ways of expressing our faith together, recognising that we are no longer positioned at the centre of society but reaching in from the margins.
The early disciples were excited by what God did on that first Easter Sunday. A whole new way opened up as the despair of Good Friday gave way to the joy of Easter Sunday. A whole new understanding of what God was doing among them was born. They were truly living right in the midst of resurrection.
