Nicholas de Blaston became the first Vicar of Tarvin in 1307.
This prompted a special service on November 25th to celebrate the worship and ministries of the church down the ages. A timeline drawn up the aisle of the church of some of the significant events over the 700 years - reflecting the issues and challenges that people gathering for worship over those years would have had to face. These included war, the dark, poverty as well as the movements of the centuries with all their political, religious and social upheavals.
Some worshippers came in fancy dress as if they were part of one of the events of the previous 700 years.
The Lord's Prayer was said in latin as a reminder of the gift of liturgy in everyday language and as a reminder that the worship of the first centuries at tarvin would have been in Latin.
