The minutes were then accepted as being accurate.

Faculties St Andrew's
Window Protection and Repair
Jane Parker spoke to this report
To the delight of all present we were informed that four stained glass windows have now been given polycarbonate protection.
Due to the generosity of parishioners in anonymous donations with the difference required being made up by The friends of St Andrew?s who work tirelessly to raise funds for all kinds of church needs.
Those windows protected are as follows
The new West Window # The East Window # One of the South Chancel windows# Lastly the Northern Saints window in the north aisle which had been damaged due to vandalism. A donation of £2,200 was given for this window alone. . Yet another donator has come forward and offered to provide the money to protect the South window in the Bruien Chapel.
David Herbert Jane Parker and indeed all the PCC wish to heartily thank all those very generous donors of the window protection allowing others to enjoy these windows for many years to come.

Thanks was also given to Jane Parker whose work with the diocese made the window protection possible.

St Peters Reordering

The project is ongoing
A sum of money has been applied for from the Lottery fund.
An outline of the whole project has been given over to the Diocesan Advisory Committee .

Deanery Synod Report

This report concerned thoughts put forward to parishes to apply energy saving methods with a greater emphasis on caring for the planet regarding global warming.
It was thought by members that this matter could be best assessed by the Building Focus Group. Also a health and safety report may be helpful on this matter in the future.
St Peters reordering will demonstrate some good energy saving and a module for the future.

Duddon School Trust

For the benefit of those members perhaps unsure of all functions of this very useful trust . David Herbert spoke about its history how it came into being and it modus operandi. Explaining that some fourteen years ago the Headmasters house was sold as he did not want to live there.
That money was then put into a trust . Over the years it has provided grants to ex students of £100 to £200 to help with education or specific needs.
It has provided funds for the village hall and has also funded the PCC on matters such as Godly Play.
David explained that only the interest on the money invested is spent each year. A place in the Parish News Grapevine magazine will be given soon to inform others of this organization and it uses.

Summer Fair

It was noted that unfortunately the Summer fair had to be cancelled this year due to the lack of volunteers for the stalls.
This would mean a considerable lack in funds normally enjoyed by the church it was hoped that the sale of raffle Tickets and successful sponsorship would help to alleviate this matter.
Following this problem a fund raising group met and decided that a number of fund raising events should be held and these should attract different interests. Also that a special meeting should be held. Involving the whole village where people interested can put forward their ideas.
This meeting shall be held on the 13th of September at The Copper Kettle in Tarvin at 7.30pm.

David and the PCC wish to thank Karyn and all those involved in running the Summer Fair in years gone by without whose efforts this event would not have been a happy and successful occasion.

Clergy Report

David spoke about the issue of giving. This is not always meant in the context of giving money but more giving oneself.

Open Church
Give the church space to the village as a gift

David has begun a rota of volunteer stewards to have the church open Monday to Friday 9.00am till 4.30pm . He explained that some slots are still free but he was very pleased with the response from volunteers .
Members expressed concern that stewards where alone but most felt that it was personal choice. Ron very kindly offered a mobile phone that stewards could use if needed . David expressed that in the event that stewards did not overlap that at the end of each session the key must be taken back to the post office leaving the church locked till the next steward arrives. Tony Knowles made the suggestion that an area within the church be set aside to light candles by those visiting it was thought a lovely suggestion.

Back To Church Sunday
This event is being held this year on September the 30th at both churches Harvest festival.
This event is to encourage people back to church if they have been before and to encourage new comers. It is requested that leaflet dispersal was to be on a personal level given to friends and family. Not just posted out around the village.

A.O.B
It was requested that those providing reports would write them so that members could read about them before the meeting . The secretary would see that these where sent via email with the agenda or by post.

It was noted with many thanks that the strawberry wine evening raised £500 .

T Mobile have still not yet reported back.

The question was asked now that Richard Nightingale had retired from the hand bells . Was anyone else interested in taking this on and members stated that there had been interest shown..
The PCC are very thankful to Richard for his long years of service and wish him well in his retirement.

There was then a question from David
As men are a huge part of the parish David thought it a good idea that a youth club for men(any age ) could meet every month and socialise.
David is going to circulate ideas . The PCC thought this a wonderful idea.
