For anyone researching Cheshire ancestors go to the LDS Family Search web site, scroll down and click on "what's New" then go to the prototype for searching millions of records. There you can search Cheshire parish registers and BT's ( Bishops Transcripts ) Tarvin included. "Good Luck "

Does anyone out there have any information on the Steaton's of Tarvin?
James Steaton 1816-1900 was born in Tarvin before moving to Manchester. His parents were Francis (1772-1839) and Elizabeth nee:Jones 1772-1856. Both I believe died in Tarvin, so therefore buried in St Andrew's churchyard or is there another burial ground?
Any information would be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
Denise

Can anyone help?
I am researching my family and I have two names. John Reece, Miller of Tarvin. He married Ann Powell in Tarvin church 1811, her father was Joseph Powell, Corn factor. My quest has ground to a halt. Any leads, however tenuous will be gratefully received. Max

I would be grateful to know if anyone is aware of any graves in the Tarvin Churchyard for anyone named Dean.

It is stated in an old Will for a Ralph Dean that the Family Pew within the Tarvin Church and he stipulated that the Dean Family Pew must always remain within the Dean family for future generations and must never be sold.

Any information will be gratefully received.

One side of my family tree take me to Tarvin. I am descended from Samuel Snelson b 1769 d 1835. Samuel's daughter Hannah married a John Powell, and her daughter Mary Elizabeth Powell was born in Tarvin.

My sister and I visited Tarvin last week and though I couldn't find his grave I did find find the grave of Ralph Astle, who was his brother in law.

Tarvin is a lovely village with a beautiful church. We collected the key from the newsagents to have a look around. Thank you .

Thank you for visiting and linking to the Intentional Christian. I found your site, both for the church and yours personally, to be informative and encouraging. Let us continue to share faith and trust the Lord for results on both sides of the pond.

My mother and I visited St. Andrews in March of this year and had a lovely visit in this beautiful church. We are part of the Tarvin lineage and this completed our lovely visit to the wonderful European vacation we took. Many thanks for the great hospitality we received when visiting. We can not wait to share our pictures and memories with the Tarvin clan at the reunion this month.

Well done Jenny and David for all the past editions of Grapevine we have enjoyed since we left Tarvin. It has been great to keep in touch each month. We have not found a Church Magazine anything like as good, not even here in Teignmouth our latest home. Here in the S.W. we seem to find lots of [bells and smells] as Marion Kelly told us.we enjoyed Harry Wilson first production especially the trains.Best wishes to all at St. Andrews and St Peters.
